Two Southern Arizona cops under investigation
A former Pinal County Sheriff’s sergeant is at risk of losing his peace officer certification for showing up at firearms training under the influence of alcohol.
Ronald J. Ryan was employed with the Sheriff’s Department for 17 years when he was terminated in May.
On Feb. 18, Ryan reported to the agency’s indoor firearms range for remedial training, according to documents from the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training board. He failed to qualify with his service weapon on two prior attempts.
